Thesis Work

My work seeks to answer the question, “What is our relationship with nature and how do we experience it?” In my artistic investigation to find an answer, I became more aware of the beauty and complexity of the natural world. The aim of this work is to draw attention to the visual details of geology, landscape, and the horizon. I created this series to provoke in the viewer an appreciation of the beauty and complexity of nature, therefore creating awareness and mindfulness of the natural environment we inhabit. Each piece is an abstract representation of the structural geology of the earth focusing on the subsurface elements of the lithosphere and surface elements of landscape, stones, and horizon.
